Iraq played Polo 4 Peace in Berlin
Play Polo 4 Peace on Sunday September 21st Official Peace Day World Wide. The oldest team sport is also today's hippest. Polo lovers are globally uniting for Peace. Sunday, September 21st is officially Peace Day World Wide. Few know or respect this fact. Please Play Polo 4 Peace on that fine Sunday. Help this 'new' (2001) date's recognition spread. When September 21st becomes second nature (like Valentine's Date) or May 1st, our children will live the reality, at least a single yearly day, of Peace. * * *Yes, one day of complete Peace can be vital. It allows for war zone air transportation of food, medicine, the ill and new volunteers instead of casualties. Doctors, in war zones, can immunize local children versus doing routine bloody triage. Money saved, lives saved, energy saved and it rests on us, today. Recognize this dream's potential and inform your immediate family, friends and community of September 21st by Playing Polo 4 Peace. * The goal is for polo playing nations involved in 2008, and a yearly growth in numbers and unity from the international polo community. *Will you be a piece of Peace Day's growth ? * When I was educated about September 21st being Peace Day after being sent the following video, I wanted to add my seed of help towards Peace and he mentioned "maybe organize to play a soccer game " Immediately I knew of a way to help: Play Polo 4 Peace World Wide. *http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FmEIP46B-E Short explanation of Peace Day by creator Jeremey Gilley * *The Jeremy Gilley is an actor turned film maker, who in the late 1990's became preoccupied with questions about the fundamental nature of humanity and the issue of peace. He decided to explore these through the medium of film, and specifically, to create a documentary following his campaign to establish a day of ceasefire and non-violence. In 1999, Jeremy founded Peace One Day, a non-profit organisation, and in 2001 Peace One Day's efforts were rewarded when the United Nations unanimously adopted the first-ever day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September annually - Peace Day. In 2007 according to the UN, over 100 million people were active on Peace Day, in 192 countries. There were life-saving initiatives in 14 countries, and over 80 activities in Afghanistan alone where 1.4 million children were vaccinated against polio. . Play Polo 4 Peace on Sunday September 21st What a wonderful way, I thought, to unite the world's outstanding polo community for a noble cause ; an action that will help spread the word about the importance of the date; a way to show our appreciation and respect for PEACE; and as a bonus a vehicle to promote the sport of polo in a positive way. If we all add a grain of salt..... so across various Internet sites I began to promote POLO 4 PEACE. * The goal was to promote Peace and the date. We all remember September 11th, lets help the world learn and remember September 21st as official World Wide PEACE Day, until it becomes a tradition like February 14th.* I set out two months ago in an attempt to reach all the polo playing nations by Internet sites. looking for at least one volunteer, or Ambassador , in each nation to participate, in their own way , by Playing Polo 4 PEACE on September 21st. Individuals from Pakistan to England and Argentina to Malaysia all polo players who will be playing Polo 4 PEACE on September 21st. FANTASTIC NEWS: JACKPOT: on September 11th I was informed, by another woman polo player, that she was happy to confirm that "The Berliner Polo Club v. 1906 together with Polo Partner Berlin welcomes a delegation of Iraqi army players to a friendship chukka in Berlin - for Peace Day on September 20th and 21st. *The target is, to build up a horse therapy center in Baghdad for amputated soldiers and civilians. " * *Another bonus fact is that both the FIP and IOC support Peace-Sport an International Organization ( http://www.peace-sport.org/) with the objective of "inciting the international sporting community to act beyond its traditional operation field, and actively contribute to peace." * From Iraq BG Salam answered with the following: Hi partner you too , have a nice day and then we have a good polo players in Iraq especially in army . we need support from polo family in the world to contact with all polo players in the world . as you knew since 1990 every things destroy. *but new we work hard to be polo good and we will prepare get ready to play any where any place (partnership for peace * *The Berlinger Polo Club took the ball and ran to add their grain of salt towards World Peace. * Photos and written reports from Berlin by Sandra Funk de Gallardo 1.Polo 4 Peace Logo designed Claudia Hodari on paint. 2.
