Haboob sandstorm
my name is Abdurrahman Jaafar Idris and I live in Omdurman, Sudan.
Today 05 OCT @ about 6:30 PM local time, a friend called me from Khartoum and informed me about a huge sandstorm covering Khartoum and heading towards Omdurman. I immediatly went upstairs to the top of the building and ran the interesting attached shot.
you can see the sandstorm looks like a mountain of sand approaching the house until it covered it. Locals here called this sandstorm "haboob". Huge storms like this usualy come once a year. However, there are too many sandstorms.
