This iReport is part of an assignment:
Coastal areas of two adjacent provinces in India called Orissa and Andhra Pradesh alerted by met department to hit by cyclone this evening ( Oct 12, 2013 ). Which presumed not less than a super cyclone , named as ‘Phailin’ . Not new to this region , in 1999 knocked by a super cyclone . The next twister has been named as ‘Helen ‘ .
By controlling population , prudent use of natural resources we can avoid these calamities . But the topic of discussion is when the adversity is at our door step or when we are facing it and aftermath how we human beings sustain our brotherhood and humanity .
No doubt government takes lot of precaution . In recent case about two lakh people evacuated to debar any precarious situation . In 1999 , lumps of national and international donation came in the form of money , food , clothes etc .
Ground reality is in some places people became lazy and did not go to work for some days since they had enough for couple of days and months . While some volunteer’s hard work saved many lives there were no dearth of people who snatched jewelery , money as means of income . Corruption also breeds out of relief fund from higher to lower levels .
Bottom line is lack of moral character and mismanagement makes us fail to execute in such situation . The scenario is not total gloomy . There are also beneficent minds and hands to extend in any such condition .
Since this is festive season in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh May there not be any huge grievance !
