2nd Annual Kings County Fiber Festival. While its name may leave you thinking of high potency cereal, the Fiber Fest is actually a full day celebration of all things woven, carded or otherwise yarn-based taking place this Saturday, Oct. 12, at the historic Old Stone House. There’ll be a juried selection of stalls full of hand-dyed yarn and the like for the serious felters out there (we checked, it’s a thing), as well as toys, sweaters and scarves for those who would sooner use knitting needles to eat noodles than knit or purl. For the activity group undertaking of transforming a bunch of raw fleece into a several-square-foot shawl in three hours. No matter what, it’ll be fun anyway you knit, crochet, stitch or spin it.
