On Sunday October 13th 2013 about 120 people from all over Wyoming gathered at the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park to protest the shut down of the Park and rally to support the opening of the National Parks. The Protest and Rally started out as a Facebook discussion. Rick Satterthwaite and Eva Linton started the Facebook group Protest FOR Yellowstone and had over 200 members in less then 24 hours. The protest lasted little over an hour with many people speaking. The youngest speaker was Araya Linont, 5, who simply said, "Hi! Please open Yellowstone!" Her speech was greeted with cheers from the crowd. There were about 8 children who spent their time wandering in and out of the Gates and chatting with the Park Rangers who were there showing their support for the rally.
