This iReport is part of an assignment:
Shutdown over: What next?
Why Are They Bullying Me!?
I am a furloughed federal employee. At this time I have no income. Further, because Congress voted that they will give me back-pay for the furlough AFTER the shutdown ends, I am unable to collect unemployment benefits. The only money I have is what is in the bank, and it's dwindling fast. I do not have the ability to pay any of my bills such as phone, gas, and electric. Also, I am now in violation of a legal agreement with my Condominium Association, which means they could foreclose on me. And what am I going to do when my next mortgage payment comes due at the end of the month? How is this impacting me? It's scaring me out of the mind! Don't they care about us? Those people are supposed to be concerned with and looking after the welfare of the people who voted them into office. They're not doing it. They are openly telling me to go to hell. I am suffering because of them and they are saying IDGAF! It's almost as if they WANT me to commit suicide -- I've called the VA Crisis Line more than once. I don't know what to do. There's nothing I CAN do. My fate is in the hands of the members of congress. Mike Fitzpatrick and Bob Casey represent me. Are they looking out for my interests? Certainly NOT! I would like to have them in front of me so I could tell them to let me return to work!
