Superhero Surprise, from S.H.I.E.L.D to Arrow

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     NYCC veteran JDAlady attended the sold-out convention earlier in October. She says the event has become increasingly popular with more attendees dressing up and participating in event activities.

In a Brooklyn bar frequented by Whovians and cosplayers, an influx of NY Comic Con attendees included Nick Fury and a Captain America. The Way Station, which houses a TARDIS restroom, is a much loved haven for fans of all things super powered, steampunk powered, Timelord powered… At this unique establishment, convention attendees found after-party respite and libation. Every Sunday at the Way Station, movie and show viewings are held. They range from episodes of Doctor Who, Twilight Zone and Arrested Development.

Meanwhile, at NYCC, several versions of Loki, Iron Man, Poison Ivy, Spiderman and more Captain America roamed the halls. There were amazing and authentic costumes of Arrow, Alien and Predators.

At an after-party hosted by Hello Hero, genuinely dressed Game of Thrones royalty made an appearance. Hello Hero is a new free-to-play mobile RPG from publisher and developer, Fincon. Their heroes are well versed on the party side of heroic playtime.

With so many hero/antihero characters to choose from, entertainment is not just within viewer reach, it’s within cosplay.
