Impact Your World
Doing your home work pays off
http://www.ucartoonit.com -- In this economy, a business has to do its home work.
Computer operators save companies big real estate and overhead costs working at home.
An Industry Market Trends article in ThomasNet News states that real estate costs employers an average of $10,000 per employee annually and shares the savings companies have racked up.
You don't have to force these companies to do their home work:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona cut $27,000 from its budget in decreased rent and other workplace costs. The youth mentoring organization chose to allow some of its employees to telecommute. "Office space is expensive, and that's not where we want our money to go".
Through telecommuting, Aetna has cut 2.7 million square feet of office space at $29 a square foot, for about $78 million in cost savings a year including utilities, housekeeping, mail service and document shredding.
Sun Microsystem's teleworking program has lead to $387 million in IT and real estate savings.
So, do your home work...for your company...for your employees...and for all their kids who will have a parent there when they get home from school.
