Defending the People against the Flood
With heavy flooding in 22 provinces of Thailand, the Government continues distributing food supplies and medicine to those affected by the natural disaster.
For the past few weeks, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has visited the communities in flooded villages and towns, accompanied by senior members of the army and Government officials.
As of today, the death toll is at 68 and more than half a million people have been affected. The provinces facing the most severe flooding are Prachin Buri and Chachoengsao.
Chadchart Sittipunt, Transport Minister has been surveying the current situation in Bangkok, and reported that the Department of Highways is collaborating in a integrated effort to reduce the approaching flood.
