Appearance of Tanks in Battle of Somme !
The leading light in support of the tank was Lieutenant- Colonel Ernest Swinton. The first tank was designed by Lieutenant W Wilson and William Tritton called “Little Willie”. Other countries have started to realize that troops of other countries may come in their country at any point of time, and attack them with their superior and massive tanks.
On September 15th, 1916, 36 tanks made a massive attack at the Battle of Somme. The Battle of Somme was a French- British war. With the help of tanks, the French army contributed to the loss of 58,000 British troops on the first day of Battle of Somme.
New tanks have started to be designed, so that there troops do not die.
