FAILURE IS A U.S. GOVERNMENT NORM
I am disgusted by the news coverage including CNN's over Obamacare aka the Affordable Healthcare Act and its website Healthcare.gov. People are acting like the website had to work perfectly without any problems. Let's be real instead of hypocritical.
Did anyone call for the closing of NASA when numerous rockets blew up, people died, and hundreds of millions of dollars were lost when sattelites were destroyed? No. How about when 2 Space Shuttles blew up. Did anyone try to close Nasa and pull its funding? Absolutely not. How about when a Mars probe crashed into Mars because of a math error? No. What about a near sighted Hubble Telescope, did anyone say let's end space exploration? No no one is an idiot.
What about the numerous drugs that had to be pulled from the market whose research and development was funded by the Government, did anyone call for the defunding of the CDC or National Institute of Health? No of course not.
What about the never ending amount of criminal court cases that are thrown out because of technical and evidence collection errors, illegal searches, and police and prosecuter mis conduct, did anyone say pull funding from our legal system? No way.
What about the recent revelation that the NSA was spying on all Americans, did Congress pull funding and close the NSA? No. Or what about the IRS, and the recent revelation that IRS workers were illegally using their position to hender Tea Party 50C4 Applicants, did Congress defund the IRS and shut it down? No way in deed.
Or how about when the Nuclear Power Plant at 3 Mile Island had a major accident and radioactive water and gas was released, did the Congress pull all its funding? No way.
Or how about the Military aircraft called the Osprey, remember this one? Let's see... its run over its initial budget and too date has cost the Pentegon Billions of dollars, its killed numerous test pilots, and has taken decades to perfect. Did anyone kill that project? No because the U.S. Marines use it now days.
Failure is nothing new when it comes to humans and anything we humans try to make. Yet Obamacare, aka the Affordable Healthcare Act, is not a website, its a program that now requires all Americans with the means to purchase a health insurance policy. This is no different from the mandate that all people who own and operate a vehicle have auto insurance coverage.
Currently, government authorities are looking into reports that hackers are trying to bring the website down or slow it down all to make President Obama look bad. The number one prime suspects are the Republicans and radical teaparty members.
What is sickning is no news reporter is reporting the other options that are working in signing up for health insurance like people using the telephone. Or the success in people using Insurance carriers own corporate websites like Blue Cross Blue Shields, Humana, Aetna, and etc...
The greatest thing about Obamacare is the right for every American to have access to health insurance, and medical treatment regardless of how sick or healthy, or how old or young a person is. Everyone is treated equal.
Before this law, parents with children with cancer or other grave diseases who couldn't afford health insurance or who got dropped by their insurance providers, had to get a divorce to qualify for Medicaid. This occurred hundreds of thousands of times each year across America.
Is Obamacare aka the Affordable Healthcare Act perfect? No, but its a million times better than forcing people to clog hospital emergency rooms for treatment for the flu or other serious or non serious ailments. Each year hospitals across the U.S. had to eat hundreds of millions of dollars in unpaid medical bills because people came through the E.R. with no insurance. That is why hospitals charge people with insurance $35.00 for a single asprin.
Everyone including the press needs to take a chill pill and then getback to covering items more important like school shootings, wars, food shortages, and the like.
