Who taught you to love food?
ANCHORMAN'S "REALLY BIG DEAL" ICE CREAM!
I can resist just about anything BUT ICE CREAM! My mama taught me to love the cold stuff, just like she did.
And even though I did not make the cut to be an extra in an Anchorman II sequel filmed in May at Sea World in San Diego, I am still really digging the idea of this new ice cream, inspired by Anchorman:
"SCOTCHY, SCOTCH, SCOTCH" by Ben & Jerry's!
No, there is not REAL Scotch whiskey in the treat, although I think that might be a tasty ingredient & great idea.
According to a story on the local NBC News channel, "America's favorite fictional anchorman just got his own Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor and let's just say it's kind of a big deal."
"Scotchy Scotch Scotch" honors the great Ron Burgundy, from the comedy hit "Anchorman," and his favorite beverage. However, the "scotch in this ice cream delight is butterscotch flavoring not the Scotch liquor," said the Channel 7 News.
This butterscotch ice cream features a ribbon of gooey butterscotch and a name that hails from a famous scene in the movie where Ron Burgundy gulps a glass of scotch right before he goes on air.
"I love scotch. Scotchy scotch scotch. Here it goes down. Down into my belly," Burgundy said in the scene.
I can agree with this great man whose Anchorman II sequel is set to debut in theaters this December. I love ice cream down in my belly, although I know too much is not good for the belly....fat.
Still, what a great tie-in to the much revered Anchorman. I know I will be right there on December 20, when the new flick debuts in theaters. And I will
be sure to go looking for this fabulous new limited-edition flavor "Scotchy Scotch Scotch" when it is scheduled to hit store shelves in the next few weeks.
As Ron Burgendy might say: "I'm not a baby, I am a man. I am an anchorman." Add to that: an ice cream flavor, too!
