Everyday racism: Your stories
The next day is Saturday and she is already awaiting me at the hotel-entrance, we arranged to go to eat lunch together – at this last lunch I want to say good-bye to my sweet kasama-girl that I started to like during that very pleasant week, finally I do continue with my journey, the next day ‘Sunday’ I want to take the bus in direction Nakonde (>Tanzania-Border).
The discussion during this lunch proceed not at all as I do expect it. The young, beautiful and willing black lady now says that she wants to marry me and she will come with me together to my home-country ‘Switzerland’. I answer to her that this is unfortunately not possible and I will continue to travel by bus in direction ‘Tanzania’ the next morning. The disappointed and unhappy young lady stops to eat her lunch, and she starts to cry. I myself am not feeling well either at that miserable moment, but I repeat that I cannot change my decision. I say good-bye to her and I wish the best to her and I do then leave the restaurant.I didn’t want the tears at the end, you can believe me. It was a very sad moment and a sad and unfortunate devirge (still almost tears in my eyes)…!
The police-interrogation is now terminated and me and as well the police-officer Mr. Bwalya are quite satisfied that it’s all over, Mr. Bwalya did write 4 pages A4 with his pencil, and that is some serious work, it made him fatigue a bit – what I want to add here is that Mr. Bwalya did only make notes about the sexy-scenes, he wrote 4 pages about sex-positions, where and onto which body-parts the sperm was squirted, he did not mention many important things, for instance that the young hot prostitute and me did spend some days together (>with activities) where we did undertake activities (>visit Guesthouses during the day and swimming in the Swimming-pool, visit of magnificent ‘Chishimba-falls’, visit of night-club, eat several times lunch and dinner together and with other friends), it was a whole fantastic week that we did spend together and it is far more than a couple of sex-positions and squirting sperm onto certain body-parts! – don’t forget at the end the sympathetic young black woman wants to marry me and she wants to come together with me to my country Switzerland – does she want to stay together with me for a life-time when I’m bad to her, when I’m treating her badly??
Anyhow the police-questionning is now finished, I have to sign at different places the official document , then Mr. Bwalya lays his hand onto my hand (>my hand is placed onto a black book, is it the bible?) and he says some serious words and he confirms that he did now officially arrest me (>if I did understand the procedure correctly) – but interestingly enough is that I do now not have to go into the prisoner-cell but only some minutes later he validates that he has to let me go into freedom, and again he starts to write and he completes a form (> ‘police bond-bail’). Mr. Bwalya affirms that he will keep my ‘Swiss Passport’ and as well my ‘Visiting Visa’ in the safe of the police-station and every second day I must come to the police-station to present myself to the police-officer Mr. Bwalya. But anyway for the moment I can now go home and I do not have to remain here at the prisoner-cell – I’m now very happy about that !
We then leave the office together and we walk towards the main building of the police-station, and that moment I do see my fiancée Petronella together with her girl-friend Memory sitting and waiting for me, they want to come to visit me! I’m very pleased to see her and I can now tell her the very good news that it’s just now that I can go home together with her, the police did release me out of prison, she should just wait a couple of minutes because I must get my belongings at the office of the ‘officer-in-charge’, then after about 10 minutes we can take a taxi and we drive home in direction Chishipula village – it is about 17:30 hours.
Sometimes a telephone-call can work miracles! I’m so lucky that the employee of the Swiss Consulate did speak seriously with the police-officer Mr. Bwalya, only after 6 hours after the first contact with the consulate of my country Switzerland am again free and I can go home to sleep at my place, what is only correct in my opinion! I didn’t do anything bad or wrong !
Walti, the zambia-police-interrogation is it now completed or not? yes or no?
