    Maksimir Forest

I've visited Maksimir a numerous times, with or without my camera. Mostly, with my camera. Park Maksimir is an amazing place and I'm feeling really happy I live near it. I've photographed many events in Park Maksimir such as Labor Day 2013 and Maksimir Fall 2013. This time, there were no events organised in the park, I just took my camera and decided to go and capture interesting images.

I entered throughout side entrance and took a walk, with no special route. It was amazingly quiet, as always. Even it is located next to the Maksimirska street, which is one of the busiest roads in Zagreb, I couldn't hear anything. One of the reasons was that I went to the park early in the morning – on Friday (it was a holiday, All Saints' Day).

As you can see on these photos, and as I wrote, this post is about Maksimir forest. I just love walking on those paths which lead you throughout the forest while you're escaping from the city asphalt. If you're in Zagreb, especially in Autumn, you must visit Park Maksimir which is the most colorful part of the Zagreb in that part of the year.

Park Maksimir was firstly on the edge of Zagreb (in the end of the 18th and on the first half of the 19th century), and it's totally surrounded by buildings today (Ravnice, Maksimir, Dubrava, Bukovac). Even it's only 316 ha big, many plant and animal species found their home there. Besides plants and animals, Maksimir has a numerous meadows, lakes, streams where people run away from the city to relax.
