Women Doing "Extraordinary" Things Honored in Cleveland
” To be “on fire” is to allow yourself the freedom to take full control of who you are and how you want to live your life. To live your passion and shine your light unabashedly!! It’s that moment you choose to claim your power and be extraordinary!” ~ Alicia Keys
On Sunday September 23, 2013, Single Parent United presented “Girl on Fire” Awards in Cleveland, Ohio. Women from Louisiana, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. New York, and Cleveland met at Cleveland State University to pay homage and honor the Entrepreneur, Business Owner, Community Activist, Philanthropist, Humanitarian, Mother, Wife, Sister and Friend, but most important being Women who are leading their communities.
It was hosted by Philly Weedom, special guests were Ken Lanci and Basheer Jonesand special performances by Robert Cruz of The RudeBoys.
This award show gave a platform and a stage to honor those that don’t get the recognition they deserve, but who continue to work selflessly and tirelessly to make a difference in this community. The world may not know every woman who was honored, but let me promise you one thing, they will soon!!!!
