    How to get Mental Clarity!

     
    Ladies, can you relate: “there is no point in setting reminders because it will take all day. I need to pick up the kids at lunch time then drop them off at football practice. My work presentation still needs touch-ups and it is due today along with the big meeting this afternoon. Not to mention the mountain on washing just humbly waiting for me at home. What are we having for dinner? Don't forget about paying the electric bill otherwise it is candles and takeaways. Maybe I can skip my yoga class again because heaven knows I've done it the whole month. I'm so tired I can cry. Did my loving husband talk to the insurance broker yet?”


    Can you sense the pressure and anxiety building with the noise? Can you feel the stress headache approaching? Think about the noise in your head and when you get home sometimes even before you get home. What type of noise tends to arise when you are at work? Try to distinguish all the sounds fighting their way to the top of your list for attention every moment of every day. Now notice how hard it is to function with all this noise crowding your mind. With so many things pushing you towards completing tasks and draining your mental energy, it's no surprise that you start to run on autopilot.

    At this point conversation is pretty much lost on you. You can hear people talking, but you don't really listen. Shouldn't you be the one controlling the noise? Aren't you supposed to have control of your mind? Shouldn't you at least have a say when it comes to designing your own life?

    Design your life the way you want it to turn out, not the way everything else wants it to be. There are many important decisions to be made amongst all the noise, so take a deep breath and quiet your mind. Only focus on the most important thing at that moment. There will be enough time for the rest. Most importantly be calm. This is the only way to make a good decision which will complement the way you design your life. It would be a shame to wake up years from now and wonder how you got there.


    The success you want to reach is defined by good choices. Achieving this can only be done when your mind is clear to consider all aspects. Remind yourself that each sound will get its turn and that there is no need to rush. Choose calmness over anxiety. Keep in mind that nothing good can come from stress.


    Make a note to practice this every day. Don't be forced into making choices when you have the right to go at your own pace. Breathe and be calm. Close your eyes and pay no attention to all the sounds around you. It will dramatically increase better decisions with positive consequences. Don't you agree that it's time to be in control and not be controlled?
