    Etna volcanic eruption

    The eastern Sicilian city of Catania's Fontanarossa airport reopened on Friday after Mount Etna's recent eruption halted flights there in recent days, the airport said.

    Following a quiet summer, Europe's most active volcano spewed molten lava up thousands of feet high as thick ash clouds spread for miles around.
