CNN Fit Nation: 2014 Triathlon Challenge

I want to say I'm an athlete again!

    Hi CNN Fit Nation Team!

My name is Marissa Ahrens, I am 26 years old and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. To say athletics surround my life would be a total understatement. From the time I could walk, I was hanging out at high school basketball practices where my dad was the head coach. Through the years I have gone from playing multiple sports on the field, to being on the sidelines, first working as an athletic trainer with my college team, and now with the Hawks. I love my job and wouldn’t trade it for the world, but I want to be an athlete again!

But this time, in a different way. In the past I have made excuses; I’m too busy, I don't like running, etc... Enough is enough! I am putting excuses aside to reach a goal that is 6 years in the making! I want to be a member of the 2014 Triathlon Challenge Team so I can do just that! I need a challenge; something to motivate me beyond my own personal needs and a triathlon is just what I need! When I am a member of a team, I take my job very seriously and consider success as a team effort, and I don’t like to let my teammates down. I would love to be a member of your team, not only to motivate myself but also to motivate others.

As part of my duties working for the Hawks, I run our social media Community page and follow people on their life journeys. I would love to have the chance to be one those people. and make an impact beyond my own personal success. If you choose me as a member of your team, I will not let you down!

I hope to see you in Malibu!
