Irish Defence Force Peacekeepers come under fire in Syria
The Irish Defence Forces have come under fire for the second time this week while on a peacekeeping mission along the Syrian-Israeli boarder. The Syrian Rebel Forces are believed to be the ones that opened fire on the Irish Peacekeeping troops. One Irish Soldier was injured in the latest engagement, but has no life-threatening injuries. In the first engagement, a mortar lands just meters away from Irish troops on patrol along the boarder. On the second engagement, Irish troops came under small-arms fire, injuring one Irish Peacekeeper.
