Protests in Ukraine Against the Betrayal of the Ukraine's European Dream
iheid8 says there were few mentions about the protests on the government-affiliated news channels. He says they only reported that the protesters were violent and disorderly from the very start. "The only violence from protesters started today afternoon," he says.
Though iheid8 is not part of the protests, he supports the movement. "It is good for that the civil society is waking up," he says. "People are fed up with bribery, corruption, low standards of living, nonexistent health care etc. Especially the young see their future as part of the EU, want to see their country respected by other countries."

Few official media outlets in Ukraine are showing the peaceful protests that have swept across Ukraine in opposition to President Yanukovych's refusal to sign the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in Vilnius 28-29 November. Civil society in Ukraine is at its best and it has impressed many European countries. Protests against the current Government are taking place in almost every city of Ukraine. The idea of moving towards association with Europe has united all of the regions of Ukraine, west and east. On November 30at 4 am the Government of Ukraine used excessive force against the demonstators in Kyiv, many ended up being badly hurt, including one pregnant woman. This day became known as Bloody Saturday. This violent crack-down caused outrage and energized the people to come to the protests, especially in Kyiv, in ever larget numbers. Tonight, December 1, Kyiv has a rally of 500,000 people. The Government is looking for an excuse to declare the state of emergency and suspend constitutional rights of the protesters. The international community has condemned government actions. This reports brings insight straight from the ground in Lviv, Ukraine. The police and special forces unit Berkut in Lviv have officially rejected the Government's order to supress the rally and stated they would support the peaceful demonstration. The protests across Ukraine are being organized in a completely peaceful manner. But provocations are frequent - controlled 'mercenaries' implanted into the crowds contrive to use force against the police to discredit the protesters and cause clashes.
