    Salute to troops

    Salute to Patrick Garrett

I would like to salute my son, Senior Airman Patrick Garrett, United States Air Force.

Having come from a single parented household, he overcame obstacles that unfortunately are accompanied with single parenting and as his mom, I’m so very proud to say, he has accomplished a lot and has made his family very proud.

Patrick grew up and graduated high school in Comfort TX where he excelled in sports, primarily football. He participated in a program offered via the Air Force in his junior year and enlisted in the military in June of 2010, immediately following high school.

He is an electrician with the 28 Civil Engineer Squadron Ellsworth AFB, located in Rapid City, South Dakota…..a very long way from little Comfort Texas.

Immediately arriving in Rapid City, he quickly became referred to as “The Sheriff” (due to his name), and became known as an airman that could be depended on by all who know him as a very dedicated Airman who could be called on day or night to do what it takes to “get the job done”.

His family located in Texas and Alabama love and miss him very much. We don't get to see him often, but we understand this is part of the sacrifice he makes to serve our country.

Soldiers make big sacrifices every day for our country. That's why they deserve love and respect from the citizens they defend.

THANK YOU, for allowing me to salute my son!
