    Slavery - a shameful truth

What is slavery ? In simple words bonded laborers who are bought and sold like animals without their own will and do not get proper wages for their work are called slaves . Though for the sake of law from 19th century this system has been abolished yet in reality it exists in the form of ‘Modern day slavery’. Almost 30 million individual slaves are present around the world . According to the Global Slavery Index, a study conducted by Non Government Organization Walk Free .Among 160 countries India has highest number of slaves estimated as 13.3 million . United States of America ranks 134 position .

Therefore, United Nation’s General Assembly marks December 2nd as “International Day for abolition of Slavery” .

Primarily there are three causes responsible for this unfair practice .
    (1) Enticement for money – Money is the fuel to run life and lust for wealth which also buys power makes some resort to this inhuman trade .
    (2) Putrescent praxis - We are so much addicted to catastrophic traditions that never want to change the way as it is . For example torturing a bride to work 20 hours a day if she does not bring enough dowry .
    (3) Selfishness or fearfulness - Most of the time onlookers do not bother to go against the slaver considering that is none of their business or they are afraid to the slave traders .

The truth is we can not blame one person . The whole society and system should take responsibility to go against it . Whether it is at home , in our neighborhood , security or other government organizations , even on social media . Collective negation should come out . When stakeholders , powerful person, institutions take step that will activate slaves to open their mouth and sole third parties dare to stop and finish this heinous convention . In reality number of these perpetrators are minimal but lack of will power of the majority boosts their rancorous power . Sometimes ego , petty politics and narrow mentality also fosters their illegitimate toughness .

We should ask ourselves are we part of this syndrome either ourselves or in our vicinity ?Do we have courage to raise our voice ?
If you have then please write about it .
