If RA can't stop me, then nothing can

My name is Laura Ritchie and I am 36 years old from Villa Rica, Georgia. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2005, on my 28th birthday! I have been taking different medications to help maintain the degeneration and pain, since then. My doctor keeps telling me to lose weight which will help. I unfortunately feel guilty taking the time away from my husband and two year old son as I already am a full time teacher, too. I know it is for me, but I don't want to miss anything with my baby. My brother recently has. Even completing more and more triathlons and I tell myself if he can do it so can I. If the RA hasn't stopped me then why would anything else?
