I was in the military over nine years around the seventh year I woke up one morning after training and I could not straighten my back. I under went all sorts of therapy but nothing seemed to work. I was medically discharged from the Army after nearly nine years of service. Before my lower back injury my Grandfather, Mother, and Grandmother all passed away in less than eight months. Prior to the deaths I divorced my wife of nearly five years because she had met another man during my second deployment. I was under lots of stress. I turned to drinking, food, clubs, and sleeping with random ladies that I met to comfort me and before I knew it I was five foot eight 220 pounds. My weight is now 145 and I did so by cutting back on drinking, eating clean, and working out. Just last April I ran my first half marathon in over four years. Although, I still struggle with depression and maintaining employment I am happy with my life and using my health as an example others that may have fallen on hard times.
