    Travel photo of the day

    Before Dawn in Yellowstone

We think of animals and geysers in Yellowstone, but the climate and water create incredible conditions. You can have snow and warm sun on the same day, and early morning fog can be dense. At the north end of the Hayden Valley, Alum creek empties into the Yellowstone river. Just before dawn conditions are right for a wall of fog that holds the blue light.
