    2013: Your greatest moment

    More from aadnan

    Reminiscing 1971

Being born in the late 80s, I have missed the birth years of my nation in 1971.
After 42 years of independence, the war criminals have been arrested and put on trial. One such criminal was sentenced to lifetime in jail but that left most of the country unhappy.

Following the sentence, a huge nationwide protest by thousands and thousands of general people saw a huge turn in the tribunal's decision.

This is a photograph of one such protester, who is asking for the war criminal's death sentence.

It was a highly emotional experience for me to be part of such a revolution, to see the people of my country stand up against the system.
