    The Sound of Music

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     After watching a live performance of the "Sound of Music" on NBC, MarieSager was inspired to send in photos from her 2008 trip to Salzburg, Austria, where she actually took a "Sound of Music" tour. 'The tour guide was singing almost the entire time,' she said. She says the live musical was overall a fine performance and the music was the best part. 'It puts you in a happy mood, something we don't get too much of these days on television,' she said. She says the criticism of the live performance was unwarranted. 'Not every performance on television is in line for a Emmy -- this one probably not. To me this was real entertainment and I enjoyed seeing things maybe a little unbalanced referring to Maria's tiny stumble during her "Sound of Music" number, it just made it all human,' she said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

To fully appreciate last nights production of "The Sound of Music", I think you have to have been introduced to the music in the film production of the late 60's. A big age gap from then to now and many young people of this generation do not remember first of all "live broadcasting" and or the era that this movie took place.
The positive was the staging, it was perfect. The music entertaining and enjoyable. Of course this story was romanticized for the movie and stage, but the reality is they escaped over the mountains and came to the United States to settled in New England during a horrific time in our world history.
I had the pleasure of visiting the sites where the movie "The Sound of Music" was filmed in Austria. Salzburg probably one of the most beautiful areas in Austria.
Thumbs up from me for a fine "LIVE" performance from the cast.

The lead picture was featured in the movie "The Sound of Music" as the families residence.  Please note the Hohensalzburg Castle in the background of this photo.  It is one of the largest midieval castles in Europe.
