Pictures of Mandela and the blonde boy our son describes this great man

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Mozambique based entrepreneur jmsbmoz has nothing but fond memories of Nelson Mandela, who he says he met while filming a commercial for a charity at the house of Mandela's Mozambiquan wife, Graca Machel. His son Stefano, at the time six-years-old, appeared in the commercial, and struck up a conversation with the former South African president. Mandela asked Stefano what he wanted to be when he grew up. "A policeman," the young Stefano replied. "Ok, very well, but please do not put me in prison for another 27 years!" joked the anti-apartheid leader. The exchange, and meeting Mandela, has stayed with our iReporter and his wife and son through the years. "My wife was with him during all the filming and still today mentions what a presence Mandela had and made a point to speak to all the parents," he said.

    Remembering Mandela today.
He touched so many lives and our son’s too. Stefano is 18 now and has Mandela quotes on his bedroom walls for some time and I know that he has made a difference in our sons life even though he most likely does not remember that day spent with one of the world’s greatest persons.

My daughter has been asking us for an IPhone for the last few months. We gave Stefano and IPhone in July for his birthday, something that he was also wishing for many months. He overheard us , his parents debating if we should give his younger sister and IPhone for her birthday. On my daughter’s birthday he went up to her and gave his IPhone to her and took her old phone for himself.
Today I wonder if those quotes on his wall helped him to be shaped into the most wonderful young adult that we know. I am sure they did

Attached are photos taken of Mandela and our son during the filming of advertisement for a children’s charity organization that was aired in CNN (around 2001)
The picture where Mandela is pointing his finger at Stefano describes his sense of humor.

Mandela: What do you want to be when you are big?
    Stefano: A policeman
Mandela: Ok very well but please do not put me in prison for another 27 years. (at that moment the picture is taken with the pointing of the finger)
