    Mandela -1980-The Covenant

Mandela has given us a new beginning ---an example to follow--like these Spring blossons--a fresh start. I was fortunate enough to have the time to read "The Covenant" by James Michiner. I read this in 1980 and then "Texas" and "Space" . I believe that this is one of the greatest novels I've read. I walked away with a world of respect for Nelson Mandela. I cannot imagine 27 yeras in prison--then release and then his rise to power. He learned to understand his rivals--his enemy's if you will. He learned all he could about how they thought. Then he was able to gain their trust and negotiate with them. I think his greatest attribute was that once in power---he did not practice revenge! Quite the opposite. Now we celebrate his wisdom--his ability to move man to a higher plane. Oh that todays politicians here in the US could understand his wisdom. For my part--they do not.
