    Nelson Mandela Statue

My photo of my 3 yr old gazing up to the Nelson Mandela statue. A hero he will one day read about. I, a white girl, grew up in South Africa during the 80's. I had friends of different colour at school and I never did understand apartheid or why some adults seemed to dislike each other based on skin colour and why there was so much hatred. As children we didnt really care about colour, two of my best friends were Zulu .Thanks to Nelson Mandela, we have all been given a chance to live in peace together in this beautiful country.
