This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Sound off

Tell Me How I'm Doing... At Your Expense

I received a piece of political propaganda today. I won't identify the party, because it is irrelevant, as everyone in the House and other members of Government Agencies do it.
Anyway, before I angrily tossed yet another piece of crap in my trashcan, something caught my eye - this mailing contained a "Constituent Survey."
Well, that's kind of neat! This piece of mail which was "prepared, published, and mailed at taxpayer expense" actually had a place for us to voice our opinions and be heard!
Well, not really. I mean, the blatantly leading multiple choice questions aside, there is no return postage. You cannot fill out this survey, drop it in the mail, and rest assured that you will see your opinion counted. Nope, YOU HAVE TO PAY THE POSTAGE TO SEND THIS "CONSTITUENT SURVEY" BACK TO BE COUNTED.
Surely this is just one politician indulging in a loophole to advertise himself, right?
No. It's the law: Return postage cannot be included with mass mailings from government officials.
Let's call it the "We Want to Hear From You, But At Your Expense While I Advertise My Agenda" Law.
