    Euro Maidan Protests

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     American expat renodomenico captured these images of pro-European protesters in Kiev, Ukraine, Sunday, as they flooded the city's Independence Square. Protesters smashed a statue of Vladimir Lenin, a key leader of Russia's 20th century revolution, as demonstrations continued over the country's push for closer ties with Russia. "This is a very volatile and developing dangerous situation," he said. "It could turn into a shooting civil war. It's very, very uncertain unlike the Orange Revolution [in 2004-2005], which was a purely democratic movement."
