First Snow in over 20 Years

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     mab91c and his wife lived in San Antonio, Texas, for 21 years, where he saw at most a 'dusting of snow.' They moved to Arkansas in July to be closer to their granddaughters. 'My wife and I were wishing for a bit of snow this year since we had not really seen any for decades ... Next time, I'll wish for just a few inches. Too old to keep shoveling off the driveway!'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer after moving from San Antonio, TX were the only snow we ever saw for 20+ years was on the news, my wife and I were excited to have our first snowfall heading our way. Be careful what you wish for...we wanted to see some snow and we got about 7-8 inches where we are living and up to 12-14 inches just 20 miles away. This made for some interesting times driving (thank God I grew up in Michigan), buying (and using) a snow shovel for the first time in decades, rock salt, etc. All in all, however...we loved it. We really enjoyed playing with the grand-kids in the snow.

I had just finished the Christmas decorations on the house 2 days prior and the next night, the sky was beautiful (see the first pic). The next day, it started. I'm not sure my Dane, being the Texas dog she is, knew what to do with it all, but after a few days (and a seriously cold behind...), she decided she might as well have fun in it!

Merry Christmas & the hopes and prayers for a Happy New Year!
