I want more " Women In Hollywood: its a great time to be a leading lady"
An article written by Maggi Furlong entitled “From Jennifer Lawrence to Taylor Swift, it’s a great time to be a leading lady” was published on November 26, 2013. This article talks about the positive things about women in the entertainment industry (artists, actresses, singers), all the sucesses that they get from, this kind of industry, and how we don’t really recognize these women because our focuss is only settled in things that are negative, were missing a lot because of this. However, “in the movies, while many people claim the characters for women are on the rise, studies show otherwise. In the movies, only a small portion of movies play as female characters when women make up more than 50% of the movie going audience, this number should be shift in able for it to reach its demands.”
I agree with Furlong when she talks about the positive things about women and also the one that she mentioned that even though they celebrate the women power, how they claim about the characters of women in the movies, still nothing have change on how they treat women in the society, they still think that women is lower than women, and when a woman step up from her closet’s the society will stereo type her in a negative way.
My intention of writing this letter to the editor, is to suggest to the editor herself that they should do this more often, they should keep writing about women, women’s achievements the in the entertainment industry, and also they should also write articles that shows an appreciation toward women. Because the more we appreacite the women in our industry the more they will do something that will help for you appreciate more them more. Every single thing that the media or the writer say influence us, we might not always read what they write but it’s always nice for readers to read about positive things, “it’s good for us young women to see strong and creative women on top”. In able for the editor to attract more audience I suggest to her to talk to some big newpaper industry, for her work to sprend out quickly as it can. This article is like an “eye opener” to us, because before we didn’t know that this is how women were treated in the entertainment industry, they were treated badly we read articles that talks about women success, it always the negative side because of this the women’s importance are starting to fade away.
In able for us to gain back women’s power in the entertainment industry, writer’s like Furlong should continue writing on women’s success in the industry.
