A few of the African Musicians living in Europe got together to record a tribute song for Mandela. We hope you enjoy it. I had a dream that we where playing this song at Mandela's funeral/remembrance service around January 2013. So when the news hit about his death, I called my good friend Nic Ntsikelelo Vani who plays Simba in the Lion King in London to come over to Amsterdam and sing it and to also do the second verse in Mandela's native language. The guitars was by Kweku Mensah. And I, Berima Amo played the trumpet, drums, congas and keyboards. Though we are the new generation of Afro-jazz and fusion musicians now, we made the song in the Hugh Masekela & Paul Simon style to also pay respects to the South African struggle especially because most of our fathers laid down their lives for our freedom. We thank you for creating a memorial for our papa. The youtube link for the song is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXyrLiuutn4
