‘Yolanda’ death toll in Phl: 6,009
The NDRRMC said 27,002 people were injured while 1,779 remain missing.
At least 3,420,194 families or 16,076,360 individuals were affected in 12,122 villages in 44 provinces, displacing 833,811 families or 3,927,827 people.
Of those displaced, 20,949 families or 101,646 individuals are still staying in 383 evacuation centers.
Damage caused by Yolanda increased to P35.547 billion, including P18.226 billion in infrastructure and P17.321 billion in agriculture.
The NDRRMC also said the number of destroyed houses has reached 1,139,0731 including 550,904 destroyed and 588,827 damaged.
It said the total cost of government assistance for the affected families has reached P1.071 billion.
Meanwhile, the Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD) has allocated P776 million; local government units (LGUs), P116 million; Department of Health (DOH), P121 million; and non-governmental organizations/other government organizations, P56 million.
The DSWD said 35,417 people, 1,351 vehicles, 118 seacraft, 163 aircraft and 28,361 other assets/equipment from the national and local agencies have been deployed to strategic areas to expedite response and medical operations.
