CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Nigerian artist davidobi14 began this painting of Nelson Mandela earlier this week and finished it today as a tribute to Mandela. He did this painting on water-color paper with ink and white acrylic paint. "The drawing means a lot to me," he says. "Basically I chose the medium cause it is a bit complicated to use and it made me reflect on his struggle and difficulties he went through in prison and after we was released. He worked so hard day and night as a president, trying to rebuild his country and to unite his people."
davidobi14 will donate his painting to the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

On the 9th of July 2013, I posted on CNN i report a quick sketch I drew of Nelson Mandela while he was at the hospital. As my get well soon prayers to him.. I was overwhelm with joy when I heard he is better and strong.
The breaking news of his death, on the 5th of December was a sad one for South Africans and to the world at large.
An Icon, a man loved by so many all over the world, from politicians, sport men and women, musicians, actors and actresses etc A man who have inspired so many. A man who fought for his country freedom, a man of peace, a great leader, a man who understood the sprit of reconciliation, a devoted servant, peace maker and man of the people.
What a great lost for Africans, he will always be remembered by so many for his work and his legacy will forever lived on this planet!
I urge leaders all over the world, especially African leaders to follow his example and be a good servant like him, and try to make difference and change for their countries, to be a better place for their citizens.Africa must wake up!
May God Grant his family and the people of South Africa the grace to bear this great lost.
I will be donating this great piece to Nelson Mandela foundation, as my tribute and honor to his work and legacy toward humanity.
    Long live Madeba!!!
    David Obi.
