Cold weather, snowflakes, and public outcry to ban the event were not enough to stop thousands of Santas, elves and Christmas trees from taking part in New York City's 2013 SantaCon event.
SantaCon is an annual Santa Claus convention where people get dressed up in holiday costumes for charity. Afterwards, most event goers partake in a pub crawl throughout the city.
The event is worldwide and takes place in over 300 cities.
Last year's SantaCon NYC raised $45,000 and 10,000 pounds of food for charities. This year SantaCon NYC was accepting cash donations for various charities in New York City and throughout the globe. You can donate at http://nycsantacon.com/charity.
If you attended SantaCon, comment what your favorite costume was.
