This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Salute to troops

The organization is often overlooked or forgotten, but there are many members of the VA healthcare network pouring their hearts and souls into the care they provide for us, America's veterans. In some cases, the doctors and staff of VA hospitals and clinics are the only source of help and hope we have to find our way back into mainstream society. I want to give thanks to Drs. Jerry Bynum and Farrukh Jamil of the Gadsden, Alabama, VA Community Based Mental Health Clinic. They and their staff members are going above and beyond the call of duty to heal our minds and hearts; giving us the opportunity to again be part of healthy families and friendships, and helping us regain purposeful, meaningful lives. I know scores of veterans share my sentiments and wish to salute VA healthcare workers everywhere for a job well done.
