Time Lapse Video of 50 Pound Weight Loss

I lost 50 lbs, which is hard to do, but doesn't really make my story very unique. What sets my weight-loss adventure apart is the fact that I took the time to create a weight-loss time lapse video.

I weighed myself and took a photo of my journey almost everyday.

What inspired this? Last February, I stepped on the scale and realized that I had put on 20 pounds to my already plump frame in three wintery months. My health was heading in the wrong direction. I had always been good about exercising, but I had a voracious appetite. I started tracking calories on my iPhone to moderate my intake and within 3 months I had lost 50 lbs.

It's now been over 6 months since I lost the weight and I've managed to keep it off. I feel much healthier and I'm so glad that I suffered through the process. I continue to count calories and I've changed my diet significantly to help me keep the weight off.

One positive side effect of the weight loss is that I became a much faster mountain biker. For the first time in six years of racing, I actually won my age group at an event. It inspired me to start a new mountain biking blog - - where I talk about the advantages of being lighter on the bike.

My hope is that by creating the video and sharing it with others is that I can inspire others to embrace a healthy lifestyle. I didn't use any fancy fad diets, drugs or tricks. I'm not trying to sell anything. It was simple math - calories in must be less than calories out.

If I can do it, then you can too!
