    Suspect apprehended in connection with Marijuana Growing Forums

     

    On the north block of Mulberry St. located in Scranton PA; an ongoing investigation has been in effect for a young man doing some research on the internet about how to grow marijuana aswell as picture-related materials shared publicly. Upon obtaining a search warrant from the exchange of IP Addresses and specific URL tracking programs, the police uncovered a room with about 28 marijuana plants inside. The suspect stated "I didn't know I could be located from just clicking on and reading a large instructional forum post on growing marijuana on a commercial level. If I would have known that, I would have never been on that site". The man in connection to the house with the plants was discovered to be the man behind the screen. The police clearly stated that computer analysis's set up "key loggers" which automatically transmit the reader's IP Address, that shows the satellite location to be able to track down and find these people looking to make a easy dollar. The suspect is awaiting trial and could be sentenced to 3-5 years for the 28 marijuana plants that are considered to be in connection with a distribution network which meets the supply and demand for the sale of narcotics.
