LA Lakers Pau Gasol challenges fans at basketball

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     montebubbles photographed NBA All-Star Pau Gasol at a community event hosted by Sprint. The athlete played basketball with kids at the event held at the Westchester Recreation Center in Los Angeles on December 7. 'Only 3 to 4 people played against Pau at a time and they continued rounds until they had to almost drag him off the court and usher him to his next event. That's where you could tell he was really enjoying himself,' she said. 'Most people don't realize that professional athletes are fathers, sons and brothers. You don't realize until you see them up close that they are just like everyone else in the world. He actually was more like an overgrown kid playing with the other kids,' she explained. Before Gasol left, she had the chance to ask him what he wanted for Christmas. The Spanish basketball player, who is originally from Barcelona, said he just wanted to be home.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Four time NBA All-Star Pau Gasol challenges fans at basketball and by the luck of the draw all but one were kids. The kids eagerly awaited their opportunity to play a version of H-O-R-S-E. As you can see from the pictures Mr. Gasol fudged in his assistance to the kids he was playing against.

I asked him what he wanted most for Christmas...it was to be home.
