About Nelson Mandela Being an Icon for Racial Equality, Human Rights and Freedom

Nelson Mandela was certainly a great freedom-fighter. Though he was some kind of a radical during his youth and early adulthood, he became an advocate of non-violence and peaceful means of struggling for social change and reform during his senior or elderly years. Nelson Mandela, though jailed for several years, had become a huge symbol of the South Africans' fight for racial equality when apartheid was still around. He became a great icon for racial equality, human rights and freedom.

Though many South Africans today suspect that the African National Congress seems to be introducing 'one-party state rule', I believe that the ideals and ideas of Nelson Mandela will prevent South Africa from having one-party rule. Many South Africans today know that Mandela respected racial equality, human rights and freedom and upheld the constitution when he was South Africa's president. The ideals and ideas of Nelson Mandela will always be cherished and propagated by lovers of freedom all over the world. His love for racial equality, human rights and freedom will always be remembered by South Africans and all other peoples who love freedom.

I think Nelson Mandela's ideals and ideas will continue to affect South Africa and the rest of the world, because many lovers of freedom all over the world will surely propagate and be inspired by such ideals and ideas. Nelson Mandela will continue to be a towering icon for racial equality, human rights and freedom in the pages of world history because he left a shining legacy in his fight to end apartheid in South Africa during his lifetime. Mandela vigorously helped end the tyranny of apartheid in South Africa.
