Rare fog in the Grand Canyon

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Park rangers can wait years to see a weather event like the one that occurred in the Grand Canyon National Park over Thanksgiving 2013. But when satpreetd got to the park on December 1, all she could think was that the familiar colors and patterns in the canyon walls were obscured by fog. Now that she knows she witnessed a unique phenomenon, she has more appreciation for the photos.
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

I went to see Grand Canyon during the thanksgiving weekend, and when I saw it full of fog in the canyon I thought my vacation was just about ruined. Later, when I get home I read that this temperature inversion is a rare weather event that happens roughly once in 10 years. It was a worthwhile trip after all!
