Upper West Side, Manhattan, New York
This iReport is part of an assignment:
Travel photo of the day
Night and Day on the Upper West Side
The neon peace sign on the building in the upper right is what caught my eye as the sun was going down on a frigid Monday, heading back to the 72nd Street subway station which appears in the foreground.
I was just coming back from meeting two new friends at a European style cafe, where I had a warm Belgian waffle and cappuccino, texted my wife that I was heading home, and paused to take this shot with my Canon DSLR camera, which I carry with me everywhere.
In addition to this scene, the Upper West Side is also home to Lincoln Center, Julliard, Columbia University, and Central Park. It's a great place to catch a performance or see a movie in the IMAX theater, do some shopping, and have a delicious meal at a price that wont make you rebudget your meals on your trip to cover strictly fast food.
