    Churches unite to raise funds for the Philippines

    Steps away from celebrity homes in Broad Beach, churches united to raises funds for victims of the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan.

    Quentin Tarantino’s star, actress and humanitarian Cassandra Hepburn had just returned from being with her family in the Philippines hours before Typhoon Haiyan hit. The effects of typhoon affected her personally.
    She enlisted Hollywood friends and local church groups led by Pastor Jonathon Morris and Rabbi Jason Sobel, Master of Ceremonies Oscar winning actor Louis Gossett Jr, John Savage, Cassandra Gava, Patrick Kilpatrick and Blues musician Charles Jones were among the supporters to help the Philippines.

    They raised $40,000 in the limited time they had to hold their fundraiser for SPAN(Strategic Partners Among Nations) Relief and Fusion Global. The money is to assist in the rebuilding of communities hardest hit, that still need your help even though the story is on the backburner of news coverage.
