India Flag Burning
I am always truly amazed at the billions of dollars American taxpayers give to our foreign partners in aid, humanitarian and particularly military aid. Every foreign country around the world when in need of help from their own governments’ human rights abuses and other atrocities always seems to look west for Americans to help them in their time of need. And every time America always comes to their rescue with money, food and shelter and even her military might, when needed. We have already spent 98 million dollars in 2013 for India and they have requested at least 91 million more for 2014s (ee link) http://www.foreignassistance.gov/web/OU.aspx?OUID=193&FY=2013&AgencyID=0&budTab=tab_Bud_Planned .
Why is it that every time I look around one of our so called partners is burning the US flag. Unless the media is being biased, I cannot remember American running in the streets and burning another country’s flag. Sure some misguided Americans have burned the US flag, and we even have poured French wine in the streets and gave up on eating French fries for about a week or two.
Americans are struggling and many are poor. But every time a national disaster happens in a foreign country, we Americans are the first to stand up and give a handout to these countries that despise us because we are Americans. When their own governments are too inept or corrupt to help them, it is us, the despicable and hated Americans that are leading the charge in humanitarian aid, with billions of our taxpayers hard earned dollars.
I for one am tired of seeing my country’s flag desecrated by being burned, spit and pissed on. As an American we are taught to love and help thy neighbor in their time of need. These foreign governments entice their people to express their anger in the street and look towards America for the reason why they struggling, so willing extend their hands out to received our billions and yet many of their own people, still live in squalor.
The list is long for the foreign governments who portray America as an evil Satan, trying to spread the ideas of human rights and equality for all mankind, yet somehow at the same time trying to bring down their governments. News Flash, the days of Roman domination and making you Roman are over. If you want change you will have to make it yourselves from within.
India you for one should be ashamed of yourselves. The next time a building collapse because of substandard building codes and bribery, or a tsunami and flash floods come your way, will you be so quick to burn our flag. I think not. You like all the rest will be looking for the evil Americans to come to your rescue. I am tired of seeing my own fellow Americans poor and homeless and still struggling for equality, and still seeing my taxpaying dollars go to people who show no gratitude for those dollars freely given. India, your foreign diplomat if you wish to call her that, is innocent until proven guilty in a free and open court. What about the maids ‘right to a decent wage to help her own family. The maid was getting paid $3.00 an hour. A hamburger in America is about $5.00 and that’s without the French fries. Let the justice system work. Not just serve your own justice by threatening the maid and her family. Why is it that in your country women are raped as quickly and they leave the house. Yeah, I won’t be telling my lady friends to go visit the Taj Mahal for the family vacation.
We Americans are not perfect. Our history is long of wrongs done to our own people. Yet we are evolving and trying. Nowhere in the world will you get at least the option of a fair trial. I am not saying that justice will be served, but you will have someone trying to defend your rights as a citizen, maybe even the ACLU. My father always said when you are trying to take your hand out of the lion’s mouth, it is better to ease it out than to jerk it out. Yes, America is a lion with the most powerful military force in the world. But you don’t see us land grabbing to establish new colonies. Be thankful that you have a friend like America and the American people who so freely give of their hearts in your time of need. Because the next time you decided to burn our flag, will be the last time me and my American friends will think about giving you donations with a smile on our face.
Together the World is One (Just the TWO of Us.)
