Dance Squad Hosts Toy Drive Benefitting 90 Children Served by Lutheran Social Services

Lutheran Social Services of the South (LSS), a nonprofit foster care organization specializing in placing special-needs children and older children in loving homes, was selected as the recipient of gifts from a toy drive that the Silver Steppers dance team of United South High School hosted on behalf of children in need. The Silver Steppers collected toys in their dance studio at the high school and recently presented the gifts to Laredo staff members of Foster in Texas, an LSS program serving vulnerable children and families in Texas.

Wanting to provide Christmas for children in need, the Silver Steppers and fellow students donated toys to make sure the 90 children in Laredo served by the LSS Foster in Texas program have a very special Christmas. They hope their contribution will demonstrate the importance of giving and sharing, and they wish to instill hope into all the children without permanent families.
