Cessna Plane Crash at Tampa International Airport

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     cdlim says a Cessna plane crashed at Tampa International Airport (TIA) on Friday, December 20. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been determined, but she explains that the plane's pilot called the airport that he was in distress with low engine fuel before the crash. She says she heard about the plane crash from a local report and drove out to the airport to see if the wreckage was still there. 'I was amazed how incredible this rescue was. The chopper police being in the right place at the right time when the pilot was in trouble,' she said. The pilot survived the crash, and is in critical, but stable condition, according to local media reports.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Two Tampa Police officers in a chopper were in the right place at the right time when a small plane went down on the property of Tampa International Airport late Thursday night. After they landed their helicopter close to the wreckage, Tampa Police Officer Brian Gentry put out the engine fire and pulled the pilot out. Tampa Police say the unidentified pilot is in stable condition. Police also released the rescue video.  Carol Lim has more.
