Kazakhstan will produce 1st domestic car

Kazakhstan plans to start production of its first domestic Nomad car in the Kostanai region in 2014, Governor of the region Nuraly Saduakasov said on December 19.

"The production of Toyota cars will also begin from April 2014," he said.

Speaking at a briefing at the Central Communications Service under the Kazakh President he said an assembly of SsangYong, Peugeot and Chance cars has already been established in Kazakhstan.

"As of 2013, Kazakhstan plans to assemble about 7,500 cars," the governor added.

"It is planned to roll 15,000 cars off the production line in 2014," he said.

Saduakasov also noted some 900 cars were assembled in 2011, while the figure stood at 2,700 in 2012.

Kazakhstan will manufacture the Peugeot automobiles in the country. The production of the Peugeot automobiles is planned to be carried out at industrial sites of the AgromashHolding JSC in Kostanai.

AgromashHolding was the first to start producing SsangYong Kyron, and SsangYong Actyon in Kazakhstan.
